Supporting Infant Development Through Movement and Touch babies

Facilitated By:

Michelle Stohr, OTL/R, Feldenkrais and Child Space Practitioner

Debra Wanner, Feldenkrais and Child Space Practitioner

This five class series focuses on the youngest pre-crawling babies from 5 weeks to 5 months. In this gentle, joyful class, parents learn to support their baby’s socio-emotional and cognitive development through movement, touch and face-to-face interaction. Babies are introduced to a wider range of movement possibilities than they might discover on their own, becoming more comfortable in many positions and transitions including “tummy time” and rolling over.

Observing, respecting, and then supporting the baby’s natural pace for discovering new skills is fundamental to this process. Parents boost their confidence, gain insight and notice positive changes in their babies, while nurturing the rich reciprocal relationship between parent and child. Each week builds on the previous sessions and leaves plenty of time for questions and individual attention.
